Project Overview
Life at Rainbows is a pair of short documentary films created for Rainbows Children’s Hospice, a charity supporting children, young people, and their families across the East Midlands. The films explore the real-life impact of Rainbows through personal stories, offering an intimate look at care, connection, and support.
The Brief
The brief was to create a series of adverts for Calpol’s Fastmelts product line that balanced warmth, authenticity, and clarity. As a trusted household name, the content needed to feel genuine and reassuring, while clearly communicating the benefits of the product.
Capturing real, relatable family moments was essential. The films had to avoid feeling staged or overly polished, instead reflecting the lived experience of parents and children in a way that felt natural and emotionally honest. Achieving this within a tightly coordinated production schedule required precision, sensitivity, and a strong collaborative effort.
Our Approach
Our approach centred on blending high-quality visuals with carefully crafted testimonials. We focused on creating an environment where contributors felt comfortable and at ease, allowing authentic interactions and real emotions to surface naturally on camera.
Visually, the films were designed to feel clean, warm, and trustworthy, aligning with Calpol’s established brand identity while maintaining a contemporary edge. Working as a small and agile team allowed us to move efficiently, adapt quickly, and give careful attention to detail across multiple ads within the campaign. Every decision, from framing and lighting to pacing and performance, was made to ensure the final films felt both polished and deeply grounded.
The Outcome
The result was a series of emotionally resonant, high-quality adverts that showcased Calpol Fastmelts in an honest and reassuring way. The campaign successfully combined strong product messaging with real, relatable storytelling.
We are incredibly proud of what was achieved with a compact and agile team. The project stands as a testament to the power of collaboration, thoughtful execution, and the ability to deliver premium results with focus and care.
